My nearly life long (employee since 13 years old and 12 1/2 years full time) career in the maritime industry is coming to a close on November 18th. Shrewzard Enterprises will be my main focus and official business "open" day is January 1st 2016! More to come soon....I promise!
The Canon EOS Rebel SL1 is here! It came with two lenses to play with and another one is on order from Amazon. (Thanks Citi Card Reward Points for the hook up!) I can't wait to get the camera out of the box this weekend.
My ultimate goal for this particular part of the adventure is to be able to provide and use my own high resolution photography on my social media posts thus making myself a bit more marketable. To be quite honest, I have always wanted to learn true photography skills. I am ready to move beyond what my iphone is capable of. It is time for this lady to learn the basics and then some...not JUST relying solely on my phone and instagram for filters and photo editing. Proper photography classes start in July. Until then, this lady is learning by trial and error, books, and picking the brain of the best photographers she knows in Seattle.
Now to figure out the right photo editing software for this lady...
Continuing to slowly build the Shrewzard Enterprises brand. The logo and overall branding is being worked on right now. Also, Shrewzard Enterprises now has an online presence on Flickr, Twitter, and Instagram now! Feel free to check it out. I have decided to hold off on Facebook until closer to official launch time.
I am back from the long weekend. My creative, free spirited friends have finally pushed me to put in the time and energy to pull the trigger on some growth that I have put on the back burner. I am now bringing that to the front. So far...
1.) signed up for the photography classes, I bought months ago.
2.) Bought myself a camera for said class.
3.) I have began to seriously research the online social media certification courses for my upcoming career change.
4.) Finally reached out to friends already in that field.
I was going to wait on all these things until I am official done working at my current career. However, this weekend I had an epiphany about getting started NOW. Why am I waiting? I am no longer waiting.
This blog is a journey from transitioning from working for my family-owned business doing accounting because it was a spot that I fell into, to turning my hobbies into an independent venture all my own over the next year or so.
Welcome to Shrewzard Says...
